Pre-Release Agencies
top- COSS - Colony Outreach Support Service provides assistance to find short term accommodation for those who require assistance upon release. We also provide assistance to find medium to long term accommodation for those who may already have temporary accommodation arranged upon release. All COSS referrals will receive ongoing case management and support in finding long term sustainable housing. Case workers are located in our North Hobart office and we can do professional visits prior to release. COSS client group are Remandee’s - male and female - and prisoners sentenced to less than 6 months. Refer via TPS Request form.
- TSP - Transitional Support Program provides assessment and referral for all accommodation types and provides ongoing support and assistance post release. Client group are all TPS prisoners or remandee’s needing assistance for the South, North and North West regions. The case worker located in the south arranges contact via professional visit or phone call before release. Refer via TPS request form.
- PTAP - Parolee' Transitional Accommodation Project provides transitional accommodation for unaccompanied male ex-prisoners who are eligible for parole, and who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness; and also need appropriate transitional accommodation and support in order to access and maintain stable housing. Case management starts pre-release and outreach support will also be provided to clients who have moved on from the programme. Refer via TPS request form.

Post Release - Emergency Accommodation

- Emergency Accommodation Free Call: 1800 800 588 This is an after-hours number for clients and service providers needing to access emergency accommodation. It is a 24 hour number on weekends and public holidays, and operates 5.00pm to 9.00am Monday to Friday.
